Rajinikanth Speaks Out After Hospital Discharge
Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth has issued his first statement after being discharged from Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, where he underwent a planned procedure to treat swelling in his aorta. The treatment was done through a non-surgical transcatheter method. Expressing his gratitude on social media, Rajinikanth thanked his well-wishers, political friends, and the film fraternity for their prayers and support. He also extended heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amitabh Bachchan for their concern during his recovery, appreciating their personal messages of care.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth made a cameo appearance in Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth. He was last seen in the 2023 hit Jailer, and his next film Coolie is highly anticipated. The recently released teaser shows him in an action-packed role, backed by Sun Pictures.
In addition to Coolie, Rajinikanth will also star in Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, alongside Amitabh Bachchan, marking their reunion after 33 years. The film features an ensemble cast and is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada on October 10. Anirudh Ravichander will once again compose the music, continuing his collaboration with Rajinikanth.
